Cat Care Center Volunteer (Fridays, Mornings)

Our dedicated cat center volunteers come in weekly during morning or evening shifts to help ensure the cats’ well-being and provide excellent service to visitors. Their responsibilities include cleaning, socializing with the cats, answering questions from potential adopters, and observing and reporting on cat behavior and health. These compassionate individuals play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging environment for both the cats and our guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sanitize the kitty habitats by spraying rescue approved sanitizer and wiping down each box.
- Litter scoop all debris and/or change out the dirty litter with new litter pellets.
- Access the kitties/cats and make notes of any concerns in the sign-in notebook. For urgent care needs, must contact Cat Center Director right away.
- Wash all the dishes and disinfect before putting new food/water in the bowls.
- Socialize the cats by letting them out to play, explore, and work on behavior techniques so that they learn to love and be loved!
Additional Actions:
-Empty the trash and put a new liner in the trashcan.
-Refill the water jug (s).
-Answer questions from potential Adopters/Guests.
Requirements:
-Must be 21 years old or older
-Must be reachable by cellphone
-Must be responsible. (Our cats depend on you for their wellfare!)
-Must have reliable transportation.
-Must be able to lift 25 pounds. (ie trashbag, litter box(es), etc.)
